Montel Williams, celebrity and cannabis advocate, announced as keynote speaker on the second day of renowned Cannabis Science Conference.

In just over a month the Cannabis Science Conference will take place in Portland, Oregon August 28 to 30th. The three-day conference and exposition floor generally proves to be one of the year’s must-attend cannabis conferences focusing on scientific advancements and medical studies and trials. The team at Cannabis Science Conference most recently announced celebrity and cannabis advocate Montel Williams as a keynote speaker.

Montel Williams was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1999. Since that diagnosis, Williams has been using cannabis to treat the symptoms of this primarily neurodegenerative condition. The Navy veteran and talk show host had his first symptoms of MS at the height of his television career just before the millennium. 24-hours of sharp neuropathic pain in his feet and legs inspired him to seek help from the doctor where he was prescribed traditional pain medications. When these medications didn’t work, doctors suggest he try medical cannabis.

“Medical cannabis has allowed me to live a productive, fruitful life despite having multiple sclerosis. Many thousands of others all over this country, less well-known than me but whose stories are just as real, have experienced the same thing.”

Montel Williams

The celebrity, activist, and entrepreneur is an advocate for patient rights. He has been a part of the movement since the early formations of Proposition 215 in California. In the last twenty years since then, Williams has been assisting in passing cannabis legislation that provides Veterans with safe access to cannabis. He has also founded Lenitiv Scientific, LLC and Lenitiv Labs to continue his mission to provide all patients with reliable, consistent, clean medicine.

Montel Williams will deliver his keynote address on August 30, the second day of the Cannabis Science Conference. Those who attend can also enjoy one hundred sponsors and exhibitors while networking with the speakers and other 1500 attendees.
