Buchi Soxhlet Extractor: The Future of Cannabis Oil Refinement?

The newest from Buchi is making refining products crafted using short path distillation methods easier than ever.

Molecular distillation has become the forefront of solvent free concentrates. This cleans up Full-Spectrum Extracts that are initially saturated with chlorophyll,  fats, starches, and other undesirables.  However, even “water clear” THC and CBD distillates testing with 96%+ of full cannabinoids can and will still test positive for certain pesticides if they are used in the grow process.

Unfortunately, we can not remove these chemicals from cannabis concentrates using distillation. The vapor points of the pesticide molecules are just too similar to some cannabinoid molecules such as THC. So I wanted to ask you a question. Have you ever wondered about a purification process that can polish concentrates and Cannabinoids even further than wiped film and short path distillation?

It is possible that we may have identified the “mothership” of cannabinoid refinement. Buchi Switzerland offers a solution after the cannabis extraction and or, short path distillation process that can remove residual solvents and pesticides while purifying cannabinoids to over 99%.  This closed loop, full on Soxhlet Extractor is so precise that it can even completely remove THC from medical Cannabinoids such as CBD,CBN, CBG, making pure medicine without any risk of the physiological effects that THC Delta 9 naturally renders.

Pure isolation of Cannabinoids using Soxhlet Extraction, Flash Chromatography and Isomerization in a flow column offers extraction companies a unique opportunity to make the cleanest and most potent concentrates today. Buchi’s Extraction Unit E-812 / E-816 SOX can run 6 samples simultaneously with just one click of a button. The columns are lined with high-speed heating ceramic plates and individual heating zones.  This machine can be run unattended since it was made to stop once the proper amount of cycles have been reached or when the internal timer goes off.

This is a safe and compliant soxhlet extractor with minimal solvent emissions thanks to z-seal-system, a high-performance condenser, and a cooled solvent tank that helps in recovering 90% of solvents used in the process. These machines are truly the future of Cannabis oil refinement and I look forward to trying new products made where this machine is utilized by the top chemist in Cannabis.

I was born in San Mateo, California but grew up in Portland, Oregon. I have always had a passion for cannabis and its capabilities to heal and help reduce anxiety. I moved to LA when I was in my mid 20s where I worked in television production for 2 years, but my passion was still in cannabis. I soon returned to Portland hoping to get back in touch with my roots and cannabis connections. It was then that I started Miyagi Extracts in Oregon with two of my best friends and never looked back. Eventually I moved on to work for another legal concentrate company in SE Portland where I processed using Sub Zero light hydrocarbon closed loop extractors, Julabo rotary evaporators, and a Pope Scientific Short Path Wiped Film Molecular still for separation of Terpenes, Cannabinoids, and undesirables. I currently work as an extraction account executive for Terpenes and Testing Magazine and do product sales for and extraction company called CEID who are based out of San Diego CA.
