Cultivating Cannabis with Grow Tents and Grow Boxes

Written by Asia Mayfield

Growing cannabis commercially requires a significant amount of skill and a sizeable financial investment. Hobbyists who are interested in growing cannabis for personal consumption, however, may only need a few hundred dollars and space in their closet to meet their goals. Setting up a successful home grow operation has never been simpler than it is today.

There are two ways to make growing cannabis at home easier if you’re a beginner. You can use a grow tent or grow box.

What is a grow tent?

A cannabis grow tent is a rectangular tent with a reflective interior. The size varies depending on how may many plants you want to grow. These tents are great for home growers because they’re designed to be used inside. You don’t need a backyard or a spare room to house them. In fact, many grow tents fit inside regular-sized closets.

Another benefit of grow tents is the cost. The tent is usually sold on its own, so you can buy the parts that you need separately. If you need to stick to a strict budget, you have the flexibility to search for items within your price range. Companies offering tents and accessories include:

What is a grow box?

A grow box is a machine that automates the growing process so you don’t have to do anything beyond planting the seeds and adding water. Everything that the plants need, from strong lighting to proper nutrients, is included with the box.

Grow boxes are often smaller than grow tents, so they’re easier to disguise. There are grow boxes that look like filing cabinets and grow boxes that look like dressers. Available options for grow boxes include:

Grow tent or grow box? Which is the right choice for me?

Both a grow tent or a grow box can be great options if you want to grow small amounts of cannabis indoors. However, there are differences between the two.

A grow tent is less expensive, but you will need to set it up yourself. This is a better option if you have some growing experience or want to be involved in the process.

Grow boxes are a better option if you’re willing to spend money and don’t want to worry about any of the details.
