Written by Cara Wietstock

Another prominent cannabis testing lab is officially ISO accredited. This time it comes from Santa Cruz, California-based SC Labs. The prominent California cannabis testing lab has announced that they are ISO accredited for their cannabinoid panel. A laboratory that has been accredited to the ISO / IEC 17025:2005 standard have proven technical competence. They have also demonstrated the methods and calibrations necessary to continue to produce accurate, precise data.

“We are thrilled to announce our ISO accreditation as this is one of our most important achievements over the past seven years of serving the cannabis industry and demonstrates our commitment to serving our clients with integrity,” said SC Labs co-founder and CEO Jeff Gray.

Each state with cannabis laws has put their own rigorous standards in place, but ISO / IEC 17025:2005 is one of the few ways that a testing lab can prove their commitment to precise results, quality equipment, and proven methods/calibration.

Gray continued, “Being accredited to this International Standard demonstrates our robust quality system, technical competence, the calibration and suitability of our instrumentation and our ability to produce precise and accurate test data.”

SC Labs have been in business serving the cannabis consumer and small business owner since 2010. They developed the industry’s first testing lab standards and aim to continue with this goal to help improve cannabis products.

“For clients, it enhances their confidence in our services and their choice in a business partner, provides them with additional legal defensibility in complying with upcoming regulations, and enhances the integrity of their products based on SC Labs results,” Gray added.

Nearly 5000 customers use SC Labs to date, and now they are promised ISO certified methods and calibrations. This is a great update for the future of California cannabis. It is necessary to have a transparent industry, and this transparency is fueled by precise, industry approved cannabis testing.
