How can a junior chemist find a way into the cannabis industry? Or a scientist meet a network to share their newfound research? By joining the Cannabis Chemistry Subdivision of the American Chemical Society, an array of people can find their niche in the cannabis field. Learn about employment opportunities, emerging scientific developments and industry trends. To join, one previously had to pay $78 in dues, but this August during the ACS National Meeting it is absolutely FREE for as many as 300 people! From 8/19-8/30, membership cost will be brought to zero thanks to a generous donation from Heidolph North America. Additionally, those taking advantage of our membership drive receive a special limited edition lapel pin featuring the CANN logo in the terpene Hashishene at no additional cost.
Have you ever wondered who pioneers the research behind cannabis? CANN is the platform for the world’s leading scientists in this field. It is home to a growing group of great minds coming together to share their research and innovation at the American Chemical Society’s bi-anuual national meetings. Members also get a chance to mingle with these experts at our networking events which provide food, drinks, and genuine conversation for attendees. CANN also founded the ElSohly Award, sponsored by Heidolph North America. This is the first scholarship award for cannabis chemists to showcase their work at the ACS National Meeting. There is a monthly Journal Club with prominent speakers for up to date research topics, as well as a newsletter to keep our members informed on CANN’s progress. CANN aims to make this wealth of knowledge accessible to those who wish to jump down the rabbit hole of all things cannabis science.
“I am pleased to be able to offer CANN Membership at no cost for a limited time. I know that this is a fantastic value and will provide resources for new and established scientists. The new pin is really cool too!” said Ezra Pryor, founding CANN member and current Membership Chair. We are grateful to be backed by Heidolph North America, who believes in our mission and funded this membership drive as a step forward on our path to become a technical division of ACS. “At Heidolph NA, and as long-time members and supporters of ACS Chemists we understand the importance of division status for CANN as they continue to contribute to the development of cannabis chemistry and science” said Jim Dawson, President of Heidolph North America.
