PhytaTech is a Denver, Colorado based cannabis company who is providing an innovative approach to the industry space.
They aren’t only staffed with knowledgeable, detail oriented chemists and scientists; they’re also running a quality business. That goes hand in hand with customer service, another specialty of the PhytaTech team. With all these points converging, we had to get them on our list of featured cannabis testing labs.
Their suite of lab tests includes two categories: regular and value-added. Regular services include the usual cannabinoid testing, residual solvents, microbial contamination, pesticides, and heavy metals. The state of Colorado has validated Phytatech for their potency testing and residual solvents. To add more foundation to this lab, their plating methods for total yeast and mold counts are certified.
They are, however, currently awaiting their state certification for pesticide contamination and heavy metals. For pesticides, Phytatech uses High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) coupled with Mass Spectrometry (MS) for rapid testing and very low detection limits. When testing heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, and mercury) the cannabis testing lab uses Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP) to test for low concentrations of metals.
The other side of their testing includes value-added services like terpene content, residual solvents, water and additive testing, soil testing, and nutritional program analysis. These in depth analyses can ensure that cannabis is clean from seed to sale. A cultivator can have their nutrients, water, and soil tested; but they can also assess how many micro and macro nutrients the plant is digesting under it’s current daily regimen. According to the PhytaTech website a nutritional program analysis could save a manufacturer thousands of dollars a month. These extra lab tests are part of why PhytaTech is special, they’re able to approach the plant from new angles.
Despite being at the forefront of cannabis lab testing in the Rocky Mountain State PhytaTech continues to focus on individual customer care. Their staff is well versed in the cannabis industry and prepared to ebb and flow with the shifting regulations that may come into play. They also have a deep understanding of a lab’s role in R&D and as such can be a valuable partner for any company developing a new product in Denver.
