Grow for Vets Event Helps Vegas Veterans

Written by Cara Wietstock

Grow for Vets is a national tax exempt organization that works to provide our heroes with safe access to clean, effective cannabis. Readers may recognize them because their partnership with DB Labs was covered by Terpenes and Testing in the May/June issue of the print publication. Since the founding of Grow for Vets with CEO Roger Martin at the helm, they have provided around $1.4 million in free cannabis to Veterans of our United States Armed Forces.

Roger Martin, CEO of Grow for Vets, speaks with an empathic passion when it comes to opioid use among our US Veterans, citing that in 2016 “More American heroes died from prescription drug overdose and suicide than all military personnel killed in combat in every year combined, since the end of the Vietnam War more than 40 years ago.”

In late July, Grow For Vets hosted one of their amazing free medical cannabis giveaway events in Las Vegas, Nevada. At this event, Veterans that RSVPed received a ‘Go Bag’. Each ‘Go-Bag’ that contained a combination of privately donated hemp oil and THC products. All of these products are tested through a partnership with DB Labs, the first Las Vegas ISO 17025 certified cannabis testing lab. That means that products in each ‘Go Bag’ are free from pesticides, mold, residual solvents, heavy metals, etc.

Terpenes and Testing Advisory Board Member responsible for all Veteran affairs Martin added, “DB Labs is our Official Nevada Testing Lab. They are Nevada’s best testing lab and they ensure that the cannabis products we give Veterans are safe.”

Partners like their official media partner MG Magazine, O.penVAPE, Urban Ag, Boveda, Incredibles, Bee-Nails, dr.dabber, and Elevate Nevada helped make this great event a reality. Keep up with future Grow for Vets events on their website.
