Newport Beach – January 31, 2017 – The first magazine reporting on cannabis science just signed on John A. MacKay, Ph.D. as Scientific Editor in hopes of ensuring that the publication continues to remain on the cutting edge of this expansive industry.
After earning a B.A. in Chemistry from St. Lawrence University, John MacKay went on to earn a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on the synthesis of cancer fighting compounds at the University of Vermont. After teaching at several colleges, he joined the Waters Corporation in 1983 where he was the senior director of strategic technology until his retirement.
Terpenes and Testing Magazine is the only publication reporting on the scientific synergy of laboratory testing and extraction in the cannabis industry. Editor Cara Wietstock believes that the addition of someone with this experience will help the publication be the leading voice in scientific cannabis. “Having the expertise of John MacKay on our side makes me confident that Terpenes and Testing will remain on the cutting edge of laboratory science in regard to cannabis,” said Wietstock. John MacKay is excited to be a part of finding a regulatory space for cannabis adding that, “The individual states need to proactively come together in a scientific congress to agree on a set of regulation, rules and policies that are consistent.”
“With his vast experience in botanical market place, we’re very excited to announce him as the newest part of the Terpenes and Testing family”, commented Wietstock.
