Oaksterdam University Offers Grants for FREE Cannabis Courses to Federal Government Workers and Contractors Facing Precarious Future

Written by Shared Content

Includes Online and On-Campus Classes–Grant Application Deadline is February 28, 2019

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Oaksterdam University (OU) is proud to offer grants for FREE classes to federal government workers and contractors wanting to learn a new trade as a contingency plan for the next government shutdown. Because OU fights for cannabis policy reform, it has a long history working with the federal government and recognizes that federal employees and their families may need contingency plans for a career change or to survive another government shutdown. Holding a federal government job used to equate to stability. But, after an estimated 800,000 of federal workers recently faced a record-setting 35-day federal government shutdown, plus many more contractors, those directly impacted not only return to backlogged work but continue to face a precarious future should political poker force another shutdown of the federal government.

Federal government workers and contractors must apply to take free OU online or on-campus classes by contacting the OU Admissions Manager

at admissions@oaksterdamuniversity.com or 510-251-1544 and providing proof of employment (such as a current pay stub, etc) or proof of employment under federal government contract. Students taking OU online classes choose where and when they want to access the coursework, can learn at their own pace, and connect with an easy-to-use mobile-friendly learning system for presentations, materials, and tests. Those interested in on-campus seminar coursework must be willing to travel to Oaksterdam University and will be limited to the first 5 qualifying applicants per seminar (Horticulture or CannaBusiness). February 28, 2019, is the deadline for applications. NOTE: Federal employees interested in taking advantage of this program should first check their respective agency’s rules regarding the acceptance of loans, gifts, or other items of monetary value, before applying for this program.
