Cannabis testing lab acquires considerable investment capital.
Early last week President and CEO of cannabis testing lab Steep Hill announced that their science, testing, and analytics lab had closed a $2 million investment round. In the press release, live on May 11, 2017, Keller expressed excitement with the new venture.
Keller said, “It is an exciting time to be at Steep Hill. It is clear the products and services that we offer the market in cannabis testing, analytics, and genetics, are in great demand in new regulatory markets, and smart investors recognize this fact.”
Steep Hill has long been a leader in the cannabis testing lab world and beyond. This groundbreaking partnership will allow the prestigious testing lab to continue expanding their brand worldwide. In the last year alone, Steep Hill has grown more than 30% and added 10 new positions to their staff.
Despite this growth, the cannabis testing lab continues to expand. They are looking to bring on a Licensee Manager to help in this time of exponential expansion. Other positions being added to the Steep Hill team include a Director of Quality Assurance and a Customer Experience Director. These new members should help ensure that all Steep Hill licensed labs and joint ventures maintain the quality and precision of the original lab.
Steep Hill Labs, Inc. opened the first commercial cannabis lab in the United States back in 2008. Since then, they have been at the forefront of the cannabis science world. They have also collected an immense amount of analytics and data. This is probably why they are also bringing on a QA manager, UI/UX Designer, and a Software Engineer.
We’re excited over at Terpenes and Testing to see what kind of amazing aggregations they can make of the information they’ve gathered. These employee additions will bring their development team to a total of eleven members. Keller adds, “We could easily see the size of Steep Hill double by the end of this year.”
As a frontrunner of cannabis science, Steep Hill hopes to help the rest of the world’s labs adopt “best practices” in cannabis testing. Aside from lab analysis Steep Hill also provides consulting services to regulators and legislators across the world.
